This 1930 Ford Model A is a five-window coupe that was turned into a hot rod over a 20-year period under previous ownership and is powered by a 239ci Ford flathead V8 equipped with twin Stromberg 97-style carburetors and a custom-fabricated dual exhaust. The steel coupe body features a chopped top, a tilt-out windshield, and a single fog light. Additional details of the build include a 1932-style grille shell, a sliding-gear three-speed manual transmission, 16″ steel wheels, “big and little” Coker Classic tires, and a dropped front axle. The interior is trimmed in white and blue vinyl and incorporates seatbelts, a cabin heater, and a Guide traffic light viewer.
The chopped five-window coupe body is finished in satin blue and mounted to a color-matched 1932-style frame. Exterior details include a fog light, a windshield visor, a tilt-out windshield, a 1932-style grille shell, a left side-view mirror, and teardrop taillights.
The 16″ steel wheels wear trim rings and V8-branded hubcaps and are mounted with “big and little” 5.50 front and 7.50 rear Coker Classic radial tires. A dropped axle is fitted up front, and the car is equipped with traverse leaf springs front and rear. Stopping power is provided by hydraulically actuated drum brakes all around.
The cabin is trimmed in white and blue tuck-and-roll vinyl upholstery and features a 1940-style two-spoke steering wheel, lap belts, a black rubber floor mat, hand-crank windows, a cabin heater, a Saint Christopher dashboard badge, and a fire extinguisher. Replacement cloth wrapped wiring has been fitted.
A Guide traffic light viewer is mounted to the metal dashboard, which houses a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 8k miles.
The 239ci Ford 8BA flathead V8 is fed by twin Stromberg 97-style carburetors topped with polished air cleaner bonnets. Tubular headers flow into a custom-fabricated dual exhaust exiting at the rear.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a sliding-gear, three-speed manual transmission.
