This 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo is finished in Aquamarine Pearl over black cloth upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a stereo with CD and cassette players, removable glass roof panels, and pop-up headlights. Modifications installed during previous ownership include a GReddy exhaust system, an aftermarket intercooler, 17″ Gram Lights wheels, BC Racing coilover suspension, and front and rear strut braces, and the seller has added an EMSPowered digital boost gauge and a manual boost controller since acquiring the car in July 2020.
The bodywork is finished in Aquamarine Pearl (742) and features an integrated rear wing, side air intakes, pop-up headlights, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and removable glass T-top roof panels. The windshield was replaced by All Star Glass of San Diego, California in December 2016, and the seller notes that the front bumper cover was replaced during prior ownership.
Five-spoke 17″ Gram Lights wheels are wrapped in 215/40 Yokohama S-Drive and 245/40 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires. Wheel locks are installed at each corner, and braking is handled by anti-lock four-wheel discs. BC Racing coilover suspension components were installed during previous ownership as were camber adjustment plates, front and rear strut braces, urethane bushings, and replacement sway bars.
The bolstered seats are trimmed in black cloth with patterned inserts, and matching upholstery accents the the door panels. Features include air conditioning, cruise control, MR2-branded floor mats, a stereo with CD and cassette players, and power windows, mirrors, and door locks.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges including an EMSPowered digital boost gauge fitted during current ownership. The six-digit odometer shows 153k miles.
The turbocharged 2.0L 3S-GTE inline-four is mounted behind the passenger compartment, and modifications include an engine cover gas strut, an aftermarket intercooler, and GReddy dual-exit exhaust. The timing belt and water pump were replaced in May 2017 by Mario’s Imports of Huntington Beach, California, and the thermostat and exhaust manifold were replaced in January 2019 by C&T Automotive of San Mateo, California. A July 2019 service record notes noise emanating from the power steering pump, and the oil was changed in anticipation of the sale. A California emissions test was passed in August 2021.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
Records dating back to April 2000 will accompany the sale, as will a car cover, a factory service manual, an APEXi intake, and removed factory components.
