The car is finished in black and is equipped with a factory rear wing, round kouki tail lights, front driving lights, clear turn signals, and removable glass T-top panels. The seller reports that paint touch-ups were performed and that the hood and left-front fender were refinished.
SSR 18″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW tires measuring 215/35 up front and 245/35 out back. Braking is handled by four-piston 4Grex calipers over two-piece ventilated and slotted rotors up front, with factory calipers and slotted rotors out back. Suspension modifications include TRD strut tower bars, Energy Suspension bushings, High and Tight sway bar links, and sway bar end plates.
The cabin features black leather seats with matching trim and carpets, the latter of which are protected by MR2-branded floor mats. Equipment includes power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning, a Compustar alarm system, and a custom shift boot with red contrast stitching. A custom stereo system is installed and includes a Pioneer AVIC 8100NEX system with navigation and Bluetooth, a 150-watt four-channel amplifier, a 13″ JL Audio Thinline subwoofer with a separate amplifier, and Focal coaxial speakers.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, a boost gauge, and fuel level and coolant temperature gauges. A pair of configurable AEM serial gauges were added to the driver-side A-pillar, though the seller states they require programming. The six-digit odometer shows 54k miles.
The 2.0-liter 3S-GTE inline-four was blueprinted and rebuilt with balanced rotating assemblies by Synaptic3 Engineering, and it is fitted with a Garrett GT3071R turbocharger, an AEM engine management system, and SAMCO silicone boost hoses. Other modifications include polished coolant hard lines, 9″ intercooler fans in a custom mirrored shroud, and a custom-fabricated turbo-back exhaust system with a 3″ downpipe, high-flow catalytic converter, and polished twin mufflers with DTM-style tips. Service in November 2020 at Flatout Motorsports of Mendon, Massachusetts, consisted of diagnosing a poor running condition, dyno-tuning the car for street use, fitting a knock sensor, and replacing the spark plugs.
A remanufactured alternator was fitted and the air conditioning was recharged in July 2021 at Tarbox Toyota of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, and the car is equipped with an ASCO flywheel with replaceable friction surface, an RPS MAX clutch, and ARP flywheel bolts.
The factory T-top inserts and carrying bags are included, and the keys and alarm system keymote. A listing of mechanical modifications, parts, and work performed totaling more than $84k along with an owner’s manual and service records.
