This 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser is one of 2,500 Trail Teams Special Edition examples offered for the model year and is finished in red over black and red cloth. Power comes from a 4.0-liter V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and locking rear differential. Features include a Prinsu roof rack, rock rails, Bilstein shocks, TRD wheels, A-TRAC traction control, a CD stereo, and an inclinometer. The truck spent time in several states including Kentucky and Wisconsin before it was acquired by the seller in 2021.
All of the 2012 Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruisers came from the factory finished in Radiant Red with a black grille, bumpers, lower cladding, and fender trim. Additional features include a Prinsu roof rack, rock rails, reverse-hinged rear doors, power-adjustable side mirrors, a swing-out rear door, a receiver hitch, and driving lamps mounted on the front bumper.
Black 16″ TRD wheels are fitted with 265/75 BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires, and a matching spare is mounted on the rear door. Trail Teams Special Edition features include Bilstein shocks and A-TRAC traction control.
The cabin features water-resistant Dark Charcoal fabric upholstery with red inserts as well as a matching dashboard and door panels. Additional amenities include FJ-branded rubber mats, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a Trail Teams badge on the dashboard, a CD stereo with Bluetooth and USB input, and a backup camera screen in the rearview mirror.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. A compass, outside-temperature gauge, and inclinometer are mounted on the dashboard above the center stack. The digital odometer indicates 24k miles.
The 4.0-liter DOHC V6 was factory rated for 260 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. Service in June 2021 is said to have included replacement of the air filter and an oil change.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels though five speed automatic transmission, dual-range transfer case, and factory locking rear differential.
